Binder/TPA Audit Reviews for Lloyd's and Company Markets

These are predominantly agreed fee audit reviews with the number of days onsite based on the volume of files required to be reviewed as per the individual requirements of the client. Our audit reviews are based on the Lloyd's audit scope and we conduct annual / bi-annual Binder / Lineslip / Broker Cover and TPA audit reviews in respect of compliance, due diligence, underwriting, claims and renewal reviews.  Between the team, we have audited and reviewed many hundreds of Coverholders and TPA’s in the UK, Europe, Australia, South Africia, the United States and Canada.

Pre-Engagement Review

Whether for a new Coverholder partner or TPA handling claims, we will review the prospect and provide an overview report on their operation, staffing, underwriting and / or claims experience, systems, procedures and compliance. The report will outline these specific areas of the review and, if necessary, provide overall recommendations for any improvements or highlight any relevant concerns prior to engagement.

Underwriting Exit Review

Vueity will audit and review the existing portfolio to check compliance with delegated underwriting authority limits, contractual and corporate governance, providing a report that should eliminate surprises as the portfolio runs down.

Reserving Reviews

Pre-commutation and year-end reserving work. The review contains assessments of underlying claim details, a brief history and key points of the claim in its lifetime together with a summary of whether Vueity feels any claims will breach the programme/layer. Vueity has expertise covering Insurance and Reinsurance specialising in most classes of Property, Casualty and Marine.

Vueity Coverholder and TPA Audit reviews are usually an agreed fee, calculated using a fee structure which is also applied where such a fixed fee approach is not applicable.

For a Coverholder where premium income is very small, or where the risk count is low, making underwriters reluctant to audit due to cost, we will discuss an appropriate fixed fee plus travel and VAT on an appropriate scope.

For all projects / engagements we will provide a budget for client sign-off that summarises the review criteria, including indicative expenses.

Coverholder / Binding Authority/ TPA Reviews

Both the Lloyd's and Company market are required, by regulators, to demonstrate that they have adequate systems and controls to monitor third party supplier activities

Lloyd's provides a binder audit scope to help monitor what they estimate to be the 30% of its premium income that is produced by Coverholder arrangements. These reporting standards cover general compliance functions, adherence to relevant FCA guidelines and principles and enhanced scrutiny on the individuals appointed to manage and control Coverholders, Third Party Administrators and all other Delegated Authority Service Suppliers.

Based on the Lloyd’s Standard Audit Scope, Vueity tailors our solution to meet the individual need of our client. Vueity's auditors are all experienced professionals operating across the international insurance and reinsurance marketplace delivering a consistent and quality service that is both cost effective and fully compliant with industry standards. We offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise across all classes of non-life direct and reinsurance business and our team has access to linguistic skills to conduct audits across the globe.

Vueity's team has wide and extensive experience and knowledge of conducting insurance and reinsurance reviews and inspections which also allows us to provide commercially effective consultancy advice to support client’s aims and goals, be that finality through commutation negotiations, litigation support solutions or internal operational efficiency savings.
